My background and qualifications have been in working in corporations and multi national firms especially in the area of manufacturing and people management. Having held various positions from production related functions to quality roles, to compliance and training which afforded me the greatest opportunity to gain an excellent understanding of the business. I’ve experienced much diversity within working in such organisations. Even though I enjoyed many aspects of my roles such as the challenges, the opportunities for learning and personal development I knew that my passion was to be found elsewhere. So I went about seeking change.


I trained as a business and life coach. While working as a business and life coach I became aware of the benefits of mediation and conflict intervention. I set about becoming a mediator. I now practice as a business and life coach and mediator. By meeting with the organisation in question, discussing the requirements I tailor workshops/classes or meetings to meet and exceed the needs of clients and customers alike.

 

I've successfully completed a diploma in mediation has enabled me to develop mediation and conflict intervention skills. It has provided me with the ability to enable others create self awareness and the ability to analyse conflict.Clients have the knowledge and practical skills in reality testing, bargaining and negotiation. They can recognise and work with power issues. They have the ability in facilitating expressions of regret and apology. They also discover types of conflict such as fight or flight and how to deal with high emotions. As a result of diploma I’ve gained a good understanding and working knowledge of workplace, community and judicial legal system verses restorative justice system.

 

My coaching training has enabled me to work with clients in enabling them to test both the process and outcome goals. I work with the client so that he/she is accountable for the coaching process and the tasks they agree to in that process. I create an equal co-operative energetic dynamic partnership with the client.

 

I’m fully present and attentive during both coaching and mediation processes, listening and supporting the client’s self expression, focusing on the client’s agenda and not my own. I’m sensitive to and appreciate the non-verbal signals. I assist the client in defining the present situation. I ask powerful questions that provoke insight, discovery and action. I use different perspectives to reframe and clarify the client’s experience. I support the clients growing self-awareness.
I show the client areas of strength and elicit and support their resources. I assist clients where habitsor situations are holding them back and support any change they want to make. I work with clients to overcome limiting beliefs. Together we explore actions that will lead the client towards their goals. The client designs actions and is takes responsibility for tasks. I create opportunities for ongoing learning for clients. I provide challenges to take the client beyond their perceived limitations by using powerful questioning techniques.
